چکیده
Abstract Objectives We aimed to determine the differences between normozoospermic and oligozoospermic individuals according levels of spermatid-specific thioredoxin reductase 3 (SPTRXR3/STRX3/TXNDC8/TXNRD3) testis expressed protein 101 (TEX-101), evaluate correlations spermiogram data biochemical parameters. Methods The study was carried out at Andrology Laboratory Medicine Faculty Selcuk University. Two groups were designed: Group 1: Normozoospermia (n=40, sperm concentration ≥ 15 million/mL), 2: Oligozoospermia; < million/mL). Seminal plasma SPTRXR3 TEX-101 analyzed with ELISA method. Spermiogram analysis evaluated WHO 2010 Kruger criteria. Results significantly different in normozoospermia (2.12 ± 0.08 ng/mL) compared oligozoospermia (1.55 0.04 ng/mL). (6.98 0.46 higher than (3.07 0.35 Both correlated statistically most Conclusions High low may be a biomarker evaluation male infertility. relations parameters indicates that results present new clinical approach biology male.

Semen Levels of Spermatid-Specific Thioredoxin-3 Correlate with Pregnancy Rates in ART Couples
Spermatid specific thioredoxin-3 (SPTRX3 or TXNDC8) is a testis/male germ line specific member of thioredoxin family that accumulates in the superfluous cytoplasm of defective human spermatozoa. We hypothesized that semen levels of SPTRX3 are reflective of treatment outcome in assisted reproductive therapy (ART) couples treated by in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection...
متن کاملInactivation of a testis-specific Lis1 transcript in mice prevents spermatid differentiation and causes male infertility.
Lis1 protein is the non-catalytic component of platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase 1b (PAF-AH 1B) and associated with microtubular structures. Hemizygous mutations of the LIS1 gene cause type I lissencephaly, a brain abnormality with developmental defects of neuronal migration. Lis1 is also expressed in testis, but its function there has not been determined. We have generated a mouse mut...
متن کاملCloning, expression and characterization of mouse spermatid specific thioredoxin-1 gene and protein.
Thioredoxins are proteins that participate in different cellular processes via redox-mediated reactions. For humans, we have recently described two novel members of this family that display a male germ cell specific expression pattern, named spermatid specific thioredoxin (Sptrx-1 and Sptrx-2 respectively). We report here the cloning and characterization of the mouse Sptrx-1 gene and protein, w...
متن کاملOver-Expressed Testis-Specific Protein Y-Encoded 1 as a Novel Biomarker for Male Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a male-predominant cancer. Previous studies have focused on the sex-related disparity in HCC, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Here, we aimed to discover characteristic biomarkers for male HCC. Clinical samples were subjected to iTRAQ labeling followed by 2DLC-ESI-MS/MS analysis. Seventy-three differential proteins containing 16 up-regulated and 57...
متن کاملtissue biopsies of testis in male infertile patients
The value of testicular biopsy in male infertility has recently been emphasized by Meinhard, McRae and Chisholm (1973), and the present authors agree with them that a biopsy is essential for the following reasons: (1) to establish a firm diagnosis; (2) to rationalize therapy on the basis of histological findings; (3) new developments in drug therapy and electronmicroscopic techniques will help ...
